Long-time residents of Ashlar Village, Masonicare's retirement community in Wallingford, CT, Henry and Edythe Knapp believed strongly in Masonicare's mission of providing the highest quality healthcare to the elderly residents and patients it serves. They actively supported The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut (MCF), Masonicare's philanthropic affiliate, to do their part in giving back to Masonicare and, in particular, their beloved Ashlar Village.
Henry made a six-figure gift to MCF to name the Auditorium at Ashlar Village in memory of his wife Edythe, who had died in September 2006.
Sadly, Henry passed away unexpectedly and did not live to see the formal dedication of the newly constructed auditorium. In the spring of 2008, the Henry and Edythe Knapp Auditorium was dedicated in their memory at a special gift-naming ceremony at Ashlar Village.
"Henry and Edythe Knapp were outstanding donors and great friends to The Masonic Charity Foundation of Connecticut," said Jennifer King, Foundation President. "Henry felt strongly that his support of the Foundation's gift-naming program at Ashlar Village would brighten the lives of current and future residents for years to come."
