How
You Can Help...
The Enders
Fund at McLean: A Legacy
Providing Care and Compassion
|

 |
Established
by a bequest
from the
late Ostrom
Enders, the
Enders Fund
is an
invaluable
part of
McLean’s
endowment.
The Enders
Fund allows
McLean’s
Home Care
Program to
provide
services to
clients who
would
otherwise be
unable to
pay.
Of the more
than 3,000
individuals
McLean cares
for each
year, more
than
two-thirds
of them live
at home.
McLean’s
Visiting
Nurses and
Community
Services
Programs are
committed to
providing
in-home,
highly
skilled,
compassionate
care to all
who desire
it. Home
care nurses
and
therapists
go into the
home and
provide
safety
assessments
for clients,
complete
with
evaluating
any stairs,
rugs,
bathrooms,
or anything
else that
could
compromise
the client’s
safety.
Complimenting
this work
are the
certified
home health
aides who
assist with
activities
of daily
living:
bathing,
eating,
dressing,
grooming and
ambulation.
McLean
homemakers
and
companions
help with
home
management
duties, such
as cleaning
and meal
preparation.
And if a
caregiver
needs to
have a rest,
McLean will
provide
respite and
social
support to
family
caregivers.
Ostrom
Enders was a
firsthand
recipient of
McLean’s
home care
services,
and his
forward
thinking
ensures that
many others
can and will
receive our
good care.
He was the
retired
Chairman of
Hartford
National
Bank. Mr.
Enders also
made
considerable
gifts of
land, now
the Enders
State Forest
in Granby
adjacent to
the McLean
Game Refuge,
and
established
a fund at
the Hartford
Foundation
for Public
Giving with
bequests. |
