Sample Bequest Language for
Interested Donors
The following may be used in
materials your nonprofit agency
gives to potential donors. We
suggest that you also include
information on how they can
contact your organization
(contact person, telephone
number, address, email, etc.) if
they have any questions on the
full legal name of your
nonprofit when working with
their attorney.
If you are considering including
a charitable bequest in your estate
plan, the following language may
be helpful to you and your attorney
"All the rest, residue and
remainder of my estate, I give
devise and bequeath to FULL
LEGAL NAME OF ORGANIZATION,
CITY, STATE, for its general
charitable objectives and
purposes."
OR
"I give, devise and bequeath to
FULL LEGAL NAME OF ORGANIZATION,
CITY, STATE , ____% of my
residuary estate to be used for
its general objectives and
purposes."
OR
"I give, devise and bequeath to
FULL LEGAL NAME OF ORGANIZATION,
CITY, STATE, the sum of
$__________, to be used for its
general objectives and
purposes."
