2.            Mail LEAVE A LEGACY® Connecticut brochures to your closest supporters with a cover letter personally signed by the executive director or board president.

3.            Personalize the LEAVE A LEGACY® Connecticut materials with your own logo or name.

4.            Link your web site to ours, www.leavealegacyct.org.

5.            Use the LEAVE A LEGACY® Connecticut logo in all materials about gift planning.

6.            Use the sample newsletter article provided by LEAVE A LEGACY® Connecticut to introduce the campaign to your donors and friends.

7.            Run a series of articles in your newsletter about planned giving in general. Why not include testimonials from your donors about their giving?

8.            Use the following language in annual report and other publications: “[Name of organization] is a participant in LEAVE A LEGACY® Connecticut, a statewide public awareness effort to promote charitable giving through wills and estates.”

9.        Alert your staff about LEAVE A LEGACY® and your participation, particularly those answering phones. Post a simple note at the front desk for volunteer receptionists.

10.        Carefully think through your prompt response to any LEAVE A LEGACY® inquiries, and develop a letter and simple packet of information.

11.        Invite supporters to a presentation about LEAVE A LEGACY® and planned giving.

12.        Invite your volunteer leadership to visit your organization with interested donors.
